Four More

- What if Augustus hadn't been an idiot to send Varus to govern the part of Germany that the Romans controlled? Rome may have completely overtaken the lands across the Rhine, destroying any last opposition on the European mainland.

- What if Rome had won vs. the Visigoths at Adrianople? Similar situation to above, Rome maintains its strength in Europe, broadening its borders possibly even to the New World.

- What if Abd Al-Rahman had defeated the Franks at Poitiers? Imagine a Muslim empire in Europe, eventually to the new world. In both cases, no fall of a major empire, no Dark Ages, no Rennaissance, Reformation, etc.

- What if Ogdai, Genghis Khan's son, had not died when he did? The Mongols would have continued their invasion of Europe past the East, fighting armies being lead under feuding kings, and would have wiped the floor with them.

I love this book...
